The journey
Overview
The Ziro valley is a UNESCO-tentative cultural landscape, and the Apatani who shaped it are famous for a way of farming that grows rice and fish together in the same water. We spend our days in the old villages of Hong and Hija, among sacred groves and pine-clad hills, learning the rhythm of a community that has tended this valley for centuries. It is unhurried, green, and quietly extraordinary.
